Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
Do I have to be a Mauritian to join the society?
Not at all! We welcome students from the University of Warwick of any origin or nationality. In the recent past, we have had members from Singapore, Luxembourg, United Kingdom, Finland and Seychelles! If you have previously visited the island of Mauritius and want to know more about our culture and the events we organise, you are most welcomed to join the society and interact with our members.
How do I join the society?
You simply have to go through the Warwick Student Union’s website and log in with your account. You can join in from there at £3.50 for the ‘Mauritian Standard Membership’. Alternatively, you can meet us at the Fresher’s Fair at the beginning of the year and join there.

I am a prospective Mauritian student and am interested in learning more about the University of Warwick. Is it possible to talk to one of the members to help me with my queries?
Definitely. Please feel free to contact the society by email or on our Facebook Group and we will endeavour to reply to your queries as soon as possible.
I am a member from another Warwick Society/Club and would be interested in collaborating with the Mauritian Society in view of participating/ organising a joint event. Is it possible to discuss with the society?
We welcome societies and clubs to collaborate with us through participation or organisation of events together. Just send us an email and we would be glad to talk about new opportunities with you. A member of the Executive Committee will get back to you as soon as possible.
I am willing to sponsor the Warwick Mauritian Society with its events. Who should I contact?
Every year, we look for sponsorships to ensure we have enough funding to spend on medals and trophies, sports jerseys (for the Warwick Games) and other indispensable materials that will be used during events throughout the year. We welcome individuals/companies from Mauritius and the United Kingdom who are willing to sponsor the society. Please send us an email and our Treasurer will get back to you soon for more details.
